Since Master Replicas released the very first Force FX Lightsaber in 2002, fans have been clamoring for a Yoda Force FX. Unfortunately, due to the small size of Yoda’s hilt, Master Replicas’ team of product designers and engineers have been unable to fit all of the necessary light and sound technology in place to create a “realistic” Yoda FX that would live up to the standards of its’ predecessors – that is, until now! With recent breakthroughs in Force FX technology, we are pleased to announce that the Yoda Force FX Lightsaber has become a reality!
Since Yoda was created digitally for the prequel trilogy, his lightsaber was also a digital construct. And so, Lucasfilm once again granted Master Replicas engineers access to the ILM computer files and reference images, allowing for the creation of the most authentic, realistic Force FX lightsaber possible. While the Yoda Force FX Lightsaber is smaller than anything released to date – measuring roughly 33-inches (including the blade), versus average Force FX which measures 44 inches – remember, as Yoda taught us, “Size Matters Not!”
And of course, the Yoda Force FX features :
ú An enhanced glowing green blade with realistic power-up and power-down light effects. The power-up and power-down light effects are produced by a string of 64 super-bright LEDs that ignite sequentially inside the blade.
ú Five motion sensor controlled sound effects digitally recorded from the movie : power-up, idle hum, swing, clash, and power-down.
ú 3 built-in motion sensors for super sensitivity : 2 for detecting movement and 1 for detecting the impact of the blade.
ú A durable metal hilt looks and feels like a real lightsaber.
ú A sturdy blade is permanently attached to the hilt.
Add the weapon of the greatest Jedi in the Galaxy – wise, old Master Yoda – to your collection today!

Most of the time the sound effect for swinging the blade either doesn’t happen at all or occurs long after the blade stops moving. The sound quality is also very tinny.
It is durable enough for my little boy to play with and yet fun enough to that my husband gets a kick out it. This gift was hit at our home and now they both show it off to their friends. :)
I had my doubts about this product initially. I already own the original Master Replica’s “Darth Vader” and “Obi Wan Kenobi” full sized lightsabers. They are superbly conceived and constructed. But for some reason, perhaps the lower price, I suspected that this Yoda lightsaber would be a little shy on quality or perhaps delicate – a cheap knock-off. Nope! This is the real deal! it’s roughly 3/4 the size of the other full-sized Master Replica lightsabers. That’s a GOOD thing if it’s intended as a gift for a chid. It is just as solidly constructed as the original full-sized models and it too includes quite a few authentic sound effects which are triggered by hilt motion and blade collision. The most obvious innovation here, compared to it’s predecessors, is it’s green “blade”, which is surprisingly bright! Wow – I thought my “Darth” and “Obi” lightsabers looked good, but by comparison, they look dim. This thing is very bright even in the day, and at night it really is stunning! There’s no question that the lighting mechanism is a product of recent improvements in low-power lighting (no doubt it involves ultra-bright LEDs). Even more importantly, my six year old Jedi of a daughter can actually *wield* it comfortably. It’s not too long and it’s well-balanced, like any good sword should be. Sure, you can break it if you try, but with a little care, it should have no problem surviving “mild” battles.
In short, I highly recommend this replica, for both child and adult alike! It’s about as close as you can expect to come to the real thing, but without the worry of accidentally chopping off the occasional arm or leg. ;-)
its super bright and pretty durable, i lest it at my friends house one time and the switch wouldn’t work, but after playing around with it for a little bit it went back to working every time, and its 100% fixed now. p.s. its good for raves to.
I purchased this one about 8 months ago, and it was delivered on time and a perfect working condition. My son loved it and occasionally played with it very gently. He has other cheaper version of lightsabers for the rough play. The light part of this lightsaber is made with about 5 sections of lights from bottom to top. About a month ago, out of blue, The bottom part of the light is now inverted. So it comes on when the power is off and it goes off when the power is on. The other lights work normally. So just to keep it, we had to take the battery out. It is impossible to open to see how I can fix this either. So sadly, it is just resting on a shelf…
